About BERNARD NOLAN
There are beautiful places and I have to paint them. The coastal Georgia landscape has captured me with its wild rugged vastness. You could get lost in the marshes and barrier islands which I sometimes would gladly volunteer to do. It is absolutely my favorite place on earth. Western North Carolina is another area that brings such serenity and a desire for me to paint. Last summer, in Blowing Rock, I took the most amazing and stunning walk of my life. The light was just right in the late afternoon and the vistas seemed to go on forever. To capture a moment like that in time is a treasure that must be shared with others. Venturing into the city is just as interesting in its own way. Strong sunlight on buildings casting long shadows is so pleasing to the eye. All of the back alleys and out of the way places that no one sees beauty in, well, it is there and I am here to capture it. God created me to be a painter and it is my duty to use it to glorify His creation and use my gifts for the enjoyment of others.
